Well, after posting the previous blog entry on the site "Israel Insider", I received an email from the web administrator there. It reads as follows:

Don't you realize that this would "put ideas in the heads" of our enemies?

Living in the land where freedom of speech is the G-d given right we are blessed with, I am not accustomed to having speech governed by what can only be compared to living in the old Soviet eastern bloc.

I don't know nor do I wish to know what evil idea lurks in the minds of enemies. I do know however that the idea of kowtowing before them, curtailing ones every thought and expression out of fear of them, is a sure sign of their victory.

I must say, it doesn't matter what sorts of upgrades you might make for security. You are already infiltrated and defeated by your enemy through the curtailing of the free expression of thought of the righteous.

To give a search engine power over the content of your website is like getting paid by the Politburo to spread only propaganda that meets their approval.

I say to you what I say to Israel. If you don't stand up to your enemies and fight for your right to live and breathe, they will stand over you.

I'm happy to say that I will gladly die before I ever get accustomed to bowing before evil, but sorry to say that because of that, I must delete my profile on Israel Insider.

Seattle music artist OCTAMAN censored by Google for pro-Israel editorial

Octaman is a Seattle based music artist and self described "reggae Zionist" who publishes his pro-Israel views on his own web pages. His latest blog entry, entitled "Israel To Mandate Proportionate Use of Force" was also published on the front page of the Israeli news website "Israel Insider". His editorial is a unique role reversal that hypothetically details what life might be like if Israel were to respond "proportionately" to the enemies of Jewish people down through history.

The article held up a mirror by listing real atrocities committed against Jews, asking the reader to imagine a scenario wherein Israel enacts identical policies that history describes were actually instituted against them. Categorically listing many nations, Octaman recounts documented factual events in Jewish history, from the Arab war of annihilation launched in 1948 to the horrors of the Holocaust, to the expulsion from Spain in the 1490's down to and including the brutalities of ancient Rome. At the end of the comparison, Octaman reminds the reader to be thankful that the Jews never would reciprocate proportionally what was done unto them throughout their past.

Less than one week later web giant Google informed the owner of Israel Insider that unless he removed the article, Israelinsider.com would have it's website account closed. To quote Google's correspondence:

"Publishers are not permitted to place Google ads on sites with content advocating against any individual, group, or organization. Please visit our Help Center (https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=105947) for more information."

The link above reads:

"Content which advocates against an individual, group, or organization

Google believes strongly in the freedom of expression, but also reserves the right to exercise discretion and protect AdWords advertisers.

In truth, Octaman's article is a far cry from advocacy against any group. It is quite obviously advocating for Israel. And as other web publishers such as the Jawa Report have already discovered, this is a form of advocacy that Google is making an active effort to suppress.

In the land of free speech, this is disturbing to say the least.

Israel To Mandate Proportionate Use of Force

World outcry demands such a headline from Israel.
Yet what would really be fair? Can you imagine the following?

"Israel vows to stop using disproportionate levels of force, and will begin a campaign of proportionate responses against their enemies - all of them.

Since the gentile world's outcry demanding Israel stop using "disproportionate" force against those who try to kill them, the government of Israel has enacted a policy of precise proportionate reciprocation against any and all enemies of the Jewish state. In order to make things exactly fair, Israel has decided to impose the plan retroactively, beginning with the Palestinian Arabs and expanding to all surrounding nations and abroad.

First Israel will invade each of their neighboring countries, just as Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and other surrounding Arab peoples did to Israel in previous wars. Israel will launch a "war of annihilation" against all the nations that attacked them, and will thus exactly mirror their enemies stated goal of destroying all the Jews - by attempting the destruction of all Arab people that exist in the region and throughout the world. They will also destroy and desecrate every Islamic holy site and deface every grave stone. No Arab will be allowed to live - period, let alone trade or do business.

Israel will then retroactively enter Germany where they will build gigantic factories into which every single gentile that lives will be exterminated. They will be brought from Poland, the Czech republic, France, Italy and from all over Europe, any who collaborated with Germany in the war, to be killed in the camps by starvation, shooting and gas chambers. Naturally, Israel will not allow the Americans or the Brits to make any effort to bomb the railroad tracks leading to the death camps in Germany, should it ever occur to them.

Then the Israeli army will enter Russia and enact similar policies to what Russia enacted against Jews, again in an effort to remain exactly proportionate to the level of force that was used against them. Russians will be beaten, starved and persecuted mercilessly, and those wishing to leave the country will of course be denied visas and then sent to prison. Israel will of course ally themselves with all of Russia's enemies and supply them will the latest in weaponry in order to attack Russia.

In England, Israel will take over the entire island but then offer the British half. Then they will go back on the deal and offer only half of the half, and after that merely one quarter, and then just one eighth, and so on. Meanwhile, Israel will encourage Arab riots and pogroms against the English. Israel's military presence will not lift a finger to stop the wanton slaughter of British citizens everywhere, simply because they are Anglo-Saxons.

And of course none will be allowed to emigrate from "Her Majesty's Kingdom." Israeli shore patrols will make sure none are allowed to escape by sea, and that they are immediately returned to "the death land" as it shall be called. Those who attempt to escape will be beaten with rifle butts and locked in cages. Many boats will be sunk with all on board. Israel will author a "White Paper" and sign it into law, forbidding any Anglo-Saxon the opportunity to find a peaceful land of their own. This should at least begin to equate to what Great Britain did to the Jewish people in the past.

As for America, Israel will become a "fair and honest broker" for the Mexican and American Indian peoples in their violent struggle to create a "three state solution" satisfying their territorial claims on the U.S. Israel will provide "fair and balanced" media coverage claiming moral equivalence whenever Mexicans begin cross border missile launches on American cities and suicide bomb attacks against American schools and pizza parlors. Israeli press will make sure to give a full hearing to the "legitimate grievances" of the Mexicans, making America share equal blame for these attacks.

Meanwhile those of Native American ancestry will revisit the scalping of women and children, shown in the press to be their long realized dream of "right of return" to their cultural heritage.

Israel will demand an immediate halt to any efforts by the United States at self-defense during this time.

After answering the events of the 1940's Israel will go back in history to offer a proportionate response to Spain in the 1490's by making that country off limits to all Spaniards. They will be persecuted, outlawed and exiled permanently. Israel will then proceed further back in history, re-enacting upon the Italians what the Romans did to them in 69 A.D. by murdering nearly every single one of them, and so one, and so on and so on.

All during the implementation of this new Israeli use of proportionate force, Jews will encourage one another to heap upon their victims every vile form of degradation, including vicious insults, falsehoods and calumnies. Fictional histories and heinous libels will be invented and applied to each of Israel's historic national enemies, which will be taught to new generations of children in their school textbooks. Israel will become the capital of the New Great Revisionist History, then to be foisted upon all humanity by insisting that none of these events - not one of them - ever actually took place.

To start this campaign, Israel will cease entirely from sending her current exports of organic food, technological wonders and medicinal cures, and will instead export only one commodity - vitriolic anti-Arab and anti-gentile hatred. Henceforth, Israel's neighbors will be forced to live in constant terror of being killed by rockets and mortars fired haphazardly into their populated areas every single day, with continual bombings, stabbings and kidnappings. Israeli television will offer cartoon shows featuring characters that teach kids how to murder Arabs and Gentiles. Israel will fill stadiums and re-enact the murder of Arabs before thousands of cheering Jews.

And after 3,000 years of all this, Israel will have finally conformed to the current U.N. mandates and their interpretation of "international law", having finally stopped their use of disproportionate force, in favor of what Jewish law now calls 'an eye for an eye.'"

Now just imagine Israel acquiescing to the world's demands to behave more like they do, and be thankful that they never would.

Anyone with a cursory knowledge of Ezekiel 38 should find current events very compelling. Jerusalem is being divided. Judea and Samaria are being ripped away from the rightful residents there to be given to terrorists as rocket launching havens. America is leading this effort, and will pay a great price ($).

Any Bible Student should realize of course that God does not approve of this, that the Land of Israel, ALL of it, belongs to the Jews, and that Jerusalem is the apple of His eye, the very heart of the earth. It is the very seat of Yahweh. Will he allow this "road map" to lead anywhere but off the cliff? Are these not the very events we have been waiting for, when the name of Yahweh will finally be exalted in the earth?:

Now, since some may rant and rave that the above links are mere "internet rumours" or "right wing" websites, as though the stories were not factual, it necessarily brings me to one final question:

I have to wonder, in light of recent posts here from certain "brothers", could this passage even include Bible Students?

One left numerous posts saying that Israel is abusive toward Palestinians, that Hezbollah is a humanitarian organization, and asked "how would you feel if your house was bulldozed by Israel?" He likely shares those thoughts with his own class. He is certainly not the only one to have shared those kinds of poison sentiments here.

That last post was deleted, but to answer the question, if my house were bulldozed by Israel, I'd feel I got off pretty easy after being complicit in mass murder. I guess I'd feel like a Jew-hating terrorist, whatever that feels like. Or, I might be laughing pretty hard, since the story was faked by the BBC and my house is still standing, even after I fired 600 rounds inside a religious school, killing everyone I could.

What Does Octaman Eat? Absolutely No Meat

The Question has been raised about health and nutrition, and the growing number of morbidly obese, and how it affects our lives according to our activities in the Faith. What we are to give in the service of YAHWEH is nothing less than our "all". Being physically debilitated lessens our ability to serve, one would think, although a large person may argue they have more to give...

We need to have patience and understanding. We are all sick according to the fall. It takes a great deal of mental focus for some to stay and become healthy. Not all are capable of it. And we know that the body and mind are not so much separate as we used to believe. The condition of one affects the other. A person physically sick will have a weakened thinking capacity. I usually don't go into the topic because I have bigger fish to fry...

But actually you shouldn't fry at all. The French word "saute'" means "to fry." I avoid oils. I believe we should pay heed to God's other book - the Book of Nature. Fruits and vegetables contain everything we need. A good simple rule is 5 colors a day. And as a Bible Student medical doctor said to me: "Your body was not designed for a meat eating diet."

The world of Babylon in which we live has destroyed the food with their concept of BIG farming industry. Foods that are NOT ORGANICALLY GROWN are greatly depleted nutritionally. I eat mainly organic produce.

Today there is a greatly diminished seed stock, so that where their used to be many different kinds of apples or tomatoes, for instance, now you have your choice of maybe only four or five. This lack of diversity not only destroys overall health by creating fewer options, it also creates a genetic time bomb, whereby any pestilence that infects the plants can wipe out ALL apples or tomatoes at once, due to a lack of genetic diversity. They are hiding some seeds in the arctic ice from what I have read...

Anything man made, with their long lists of unpronounceable ingredients, try to avoid. Steamed is better than baked is better than boiled is better than frozen, but live raw food is best! No, I don't pounce on a bison. My last burger was in 1983.

Do we condone everything Israel does? This has always been a bit of a quandry for me.

Let me help you! The answer is absolutely not!

"We", whether Bible Students or any honest and fair minded individuals, cannot condone Israel’s actions when they:

Allow their own citizens to be endlessly barraged by rockets and missiles without defending them at all

Give fertile and productive Jewish land to their enemies so that the land can be used to launch rockets at their unprotected citizenry

Enter into negotiations with an entity that instructs their children through the use of school books and cartoon characters that they must kill Jews.

Brutally uproot Jewish families by force of arms from land that belongs to them in order to appease an enemy sworn to their annihilation.

Offer to give their own capital city of Jerusalem, the very heart of the earth, to a gang of thugs with a murderous Anti-Semitic ideology.

Coddle the existence of enemies like Yasser Arafat and Marwan Barghouti, who plan and executed the murder of thousands of Jews.

Make plans to rip thousands of Jews from their God-given homeland of Judea and Samaria to give it to Arabs to launch a final assault on them.

Negotiate "peace" with sworn terrorists like Holocaust denier Abu Mazen (Abbas) who planned the murder of the Israeli Olympic team in 1972.

Arrest Jewish Israeli’s for peacefully protesting and holding them for days and weeks in prison, later to admit there was no cause for arrest.

Squelch the free speech rights of it’s citizens, yanking the only conservative radio station’s broadcasting license.

Restrain their military from defending their people for the sake of good relations with their western allies who really mean to destroy Israel.

On and on the list could go, D! I hope this helps you gain some perspective, as these thoughts are based on the facts on the ground, gleaned outside the mainstream left wing Jew-hating media.

While i fully believe that Israel belongs to the Jewish people, I don;t think they have always been fair and just to the Palestinian people.

I believe I can assist you here also. There ARE no "Palestinian" people. There are Arabs who moved to Israel because Jews had made the land prosperous. Then, in 1948 when Israel declared statehood, SEVEN ARAB ARMIES attacked the Jews from all sides, attempting to finish what Hitler began - the total elimination of the Jewish people.

The Arab governments told the Arabs living within Israel to leave for a time, and that they would be able to return after the Jews were dead and take what they wanted.

But Israel won the war! And in spite of their great efforts at humanitarian aid, the surrounding Arab nations have always intervened, with the help of the U.N., in order to keep the Arab squatters living in what they call "refugee camps." Some of these camps today have mansions - not shown on TV.

Jews uprooted from Gaza meanwhile live in trailers waiting for their own government to help them, but it is too busy helping the Arabs take over the Holy land.

Every surrounding Arab nation has strict laws against Jews even living within their borders. They have no Synagogues in those countries. Israel meanwhile is the only country in the Middle East where there is freedom of religion. Arabs are even elected to the Israeli Knesset and hold seats in government. That is not possible for a Jew living in Egypt or Syria or Jordan or Saudi Arabia. And no mention is ever made of the more than half million JEWISH REFUGEES created when the Arabs attacked Israel.

The "Palestinian people", wrongly so-called, are routinely polled in the media. 85% of them favor the continued murder of Jews, just like the machine gun assault on the Jewish Yeshiva some days ago. The rest of them don’t favor terrorism simply for political reasons, preferring to wait until the opportune time for another all-out war of extermination.

Even now, Abu Mazen, Palestinian Authority leader, is planning for 3 million Arabs to flood the borders of Israel on May 14, the anniversary of Israel’s independence. This is the man who controls the media where they are teaching their kids even now that Jews drink blood and burn children alive.

In the Holocaust, over 1.5 million Jewish children were gassed, starved, worked to death, shot, bayoneted, and burned alive. In the interest of not seeing this happen again, some of the more patriotic Jews have taken measures to protect themselves. The leftist, Jew-hating socialists and liberal media driven ideologues - all outright enemies of Israel - would like to see the Jews remove these safe-guarding measures, such as the security barrier and the checkpoints, that help keep Jewish families from being shot or blown to bits. Thankfully they do not go so far, as "we" certainly could not condone such a policy. Could we?

Also, I am nto convinced what they did in Lebanon was competely just.

You are correct. After the Hezbollah rockets began raining down on peaceful Israelis, the government did nothing. Then as the un-ending barrage continued and Jews began to die as a result, the Olmert government finally lifted a finger to defend the citizens. It was an unconscionable deraliction of duty.

The worst that happened was when Prime Minister Olmert, after a long delay in failing to listen to the urgent pleas from his own military leaders, launched a much belated ground offensive into Lebanon - then, just as the Israeli army was about to implement it’s plan, Olmert ordered a pull back aborting the mission, and pre-empted their own success. Many Israeli soldiers died as a result of Olmert’s foolish politically based decision and total incompetence.

So yes, you are correct. Israel made mistakes in Lebanon. And it was a great injustice to the Israeli people who were first attacked by Hezbollah.

Many innocent people have been killed by the Israeli army.

You may not realize this, but every single day, rockets are launched onto the heads of innocent Israeli civilians by cowardly terrorists who BRAG about their use of human shields, hiding behind their own women and children to attack Israel.

Perhaps this is what you refer to. However there are also many cowardly anti-Semitic media reports that are complete fabrications, often created by Arab journalists to cover for terrorist "work accidents". Arabs have a full time job: The incitement of their own people and others to kill Jews. It is too bad if anyone is fooled by their blatant manipulation of the media and distorting of the facts.

Bottom line: If the Arab terrorists would stop their murderous attacks, there would be peace tomorrow. Can you honestly think that if Israel were to stop defending it’s citizens, that the Arabs would cease all hostility toward Jews?

Do we condone everything Israel does? Or are they doing what they have to do to survive? What should I think about this?

I hope to have offered you some perspective. I truly hope you will think about it and adjust your view about 180 degrees.

Real "Live" Adventures of Octaman

Some folks would like to know, "when can I see Octaman live?"

"OCTAMAN" means a lot of things, and part of the meaning has to do with the number 8 and it's symbolic reference to the resurrection. I sing about the resurrection, and I'm also being resurrected as an artist in this new incarnation.

Coming off the shelf after so long, I wondered if the music business would be as big of a fiasco as I remember it had always been. The answer is reflected in this blog report, as Octaman works toward live appearances - "soon come."

Here are a few recent experiences:

I contacted a local musician who requested such contacts about linking up for live shows and possible musicians available. He wrote back and I sent in my phone number. No response.

I contacted a local music establishment called "jazzbones" where I had played several times in the past. I gave them demo material for a future performance. I filled in all the blanks for their online submission form. No response.

An outfit called "Seattle big time entertainment" looked interesting, claiming to hook up artists with their audiences. They did respond and said they had dates available, and rattled off about ten specific dates - all in the past. I wrote back and asked why all the dates they sent were in the past. No response.

My old band from San Diego contacted me with great enthusiasm about me coming down to S.D. for some live shows and recording. I asked them to send me some music tracks so we could collaborate on something beforehand. No response.

Then they sent an email weeks later asking me to come down, telling me they had a place for me to stay, and that we would record and play live, etc. I wrote back immediately saying I was ready to come down. I waited for a week. Ten days. 12 days. No response.

I finally asked, did you get my two emails saying I was ready? They said, yes, but they were not ready. They did not know I would be ready now. They needed time to organize.

A few weeks later I get another excited phone call. They've got a great drum and bass section, they've got a great jamaican singer, who sang to me on the phone, they were so excited for me to come down. They were going to instantly wire me the money for travel expenses. I was thrilled.

The next day they call back. It turns out that some things on their end were not going smoothly. We could still play though. No problem. Great. I got myself packed and ready.

I waited. And waited. No money arrived. I called and they said they were just burned out on music right now, and that they had spent too much money already, and that family was coming from out of town, yada yada ya. I was cordial and quietly understanding. I did not yell, "when were you going to tell ME? I WAS PACKED! I WAS PACKED!!!"

It reminded me of the fact that they had me traveling 80 mile commutes ten years ago for rehearsal after rehearsal, only to fail to play the advertised show when it arrived. I think the problem was someone had too much laundry to do. I have to give this band a grade of "F." That stands for "failure" and "folly" vibes. Octaman may be humble, but he's a serious artist and nobody's yo-yo on a string. I think they would be the last band I ever play with.

On a brighter note, I did receive a phone call from reggae artist Joseph Israel in Arkansas, who requested my package. On a scale of 1 to 100, his enthusiasm for me and my music was about 100. He was knowledgeable regarding Pastor Charles Taze Russell, and was very excited to learn of an artist singing the message of Truth that he presented, calling him one of the greatest people of our time. He sang my material over the phone. It was very self-affirming. It may be that we work together. He promised to get me on the bill when he travels to Washington State again for concerts. He says he will tell his manager and friends about me. We will be in touch.

Octaman: Takes a beating and keeps on bleating

It's been a long time since my last blog entry, as I've discovered I'm not really much of a blogger at times. I go through periods of writing activity followed by spates of rehearsal activity when there is no inclination to write. That's what I've been doing lately, preparing for some upcoming shows. I'm still not booked publicly (getting closer), but you can catch a private show any night of the week live at the Octapad, if you are ever in the vicinity of Tacoma Washington. It has been a very difficult month after the loss of "Battle Dog", Octaman's best friend and faithful side-kick for many years. Click to see the tribute to him there. No dog ever got into my soul and psyche like this one. He was more like a person than a dog, and was like my own son. I miss him every day.

A friend of the Octaman submitted the Octaman website to some "Bible Students" who manage an email listing that goes out to all "Bible Students" that is comprised of all (?) "Bible Student" websites. It was denied entry. This was not necessarily a surprise. For years I have realized that not all who call themselves "Bible Students" really have the heart and mind of the Bible Student movement started by Pastor Charles Taze Russell (who by the way was NOT the founder of the Jehovah's Witnesses).

There are some who call themselves "Bible Students" who get themselves into a position of influence who then feel the call of the Papal spirit and begin to lord it over the brethren, pronouncing their judgments upon them from their own self-made seats of imagined authority. I was not going to even mention it, until I learned that I am certainly not the only one being slighted by these people arbitrarily out of favoritism or prejudice.

Since I run a list of my own compilation of Bible Student websites I sometimes have them submitted to me for addition to the list. I received an excellent website that was filled with Truth material and only Truth material, and yet it too was denied entry in the email listing. The reason given was that it contained a discussion forum. As if there was anything wrong with such an idea - you know, preaching the Gospel to others? I guess some frown on such activity, again revealing a spirit very different from the original Bible Student movement. However the favoritism and hypocrisy wreaks! There is a very prominent website that is on the email listing every month called biblestudents.net which ALSO contains a discussion forum!

Octaman asks, where is the justice? The fairness? Where is the spirit of the original Bible Student brethren who encouraged witnessing activity? Why is the Papal spirit of judgment and intolerance, of cronyism and favoritism allowed to grow in a seat of influence? Octaman is someone who has given his life to the Truth movement, and suffered much persecution over it. Why would they think that the rest of the Bible Student brethren should not have the chance to even know about my work?

Answer: A miniature Babylon is in evidence. They have a cacophony of views, and a cadre of phonys in the pews, as their elders offer conflicting views, and this is old news. The same problems are found throughout the babylonish sects of Christendom. Long ago my naivete' vanished away in thinking it could never happen to the Bible Students, however I rarely take the opportunity to say so publicly. However when a decent and true brother in Christ works his heart out on a website that contains all the beautiful Truth material we all value and hold dear and then has to find out that he is not allowed to be included in the website list while others are, it just demands a public outcry.

Octaman music goes on strong. The myspace site is doing great, adding friends daily. My first blog was added just today, titled "Is Haile Selassie - "Ras Tafari" - God?" Please check it out there. CD's have been sold to Hawaii and Guam, so it's nice to think of my music being played in tropic locations. You can be transported to the tropics if you please order one - or two!

Octaman Gets Airplay in Israel

Chaim, Israel!

Things are moving right along in the world of Octaman. The copies of "Rock of Offence" landed in Israel, and one show has already played the song "Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem". The host, Ben Bresky, had some very positive remarks. At the end he said, "Octaman, you're all right". It was a great thrill.

On the home front, my neighbor (and dentist) helped me with the project over the weekend, as we went about creating an 8 x 10 photo for the promo kits. He also ended up giving me some needed input on the website. His lovely wife patiently sat through a tour of the whole thing, and said she'd read it further. And some nice reviews are starting to come in, from friends around the country. They will be posted soon. One of the best reviews I ever got appeared on this very blog yesterday. It's down a few posts, written as a reply. If I can make a guys mom dance in the kitchen, well that's what it's all about. Partly sort of...

This week as I mow grass and clean the roof, I realize that it's probably a very good thing I didn't become famous when I was younger. Because if I were to multiply the kind remarks and helps from my neighbors and friends by a thousand or ten thousand or a hundred thousand? - I'd have to wear white all the time and never touch dirt, I'd think I was just so special.

But if I were to multiply my two sisters by the same number, well then there'd be two opposing armies of good vs. evil. If the good side triumphs, then my sisters would be converted to the Truth and they would reform and join sides with Octaman. But if the sisters were to somehow ever win, it would spell certain doom for planet earth...

The Pope Out of Limbo! Just in time for Earth Day?

You gotta love a religion where they just make it up as they go! So now, baptized infants go strait to heavenly bliss as always, and non-baptized also get to experience "the beatified vision".

While it's nice anytime a completely made up superstition is relegated to the dust heap of history, it's obvious that the Pope and the rest of the religions of Christendom will continue on with a blind spot regarding man's final destiny - Earth!

Yes, the good earth. It's earth day, but that didn't jog the Papal imagination to suggest that maybe, just maybe, all the infants and the rest of the dead, baptized or not, will find a resurrection on earth! That's what Jesus directly taught. Why not try it on for size? If you won't take a direct lesson from the Son of God Himself, why not take a lesson from earth itself? Look at the lilies of the field and see how they bloom and grow after a long winter's sleep. Gee, resurrection, huh? D'ya think?

Act 24:15 And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

If everyone goes to heaven right at the moment of death, what good is a "resurrection"? Where does that fit in? Ah that Apostle Paul, what a kidder!

It's nice to have a creative outlet to speak about issues that concern us all. This morning I am studying C-span's coverage of Autism. It's an area of personal interest, as I have donated time in free performances to the local center for autism, and I toured with an autistic man in the group RV, with one band-mate taking care of autistic people for a living. I've shared the stage with the autistic, having them play instruments and sing and it was a wonderful experience. I believe it's SO important to treat these people the same as you would anyone else, never talking down to them like they are children. They are not. It's one of the more frustrating things to see someone raise their voice in patronizing tones, asking a person that you know to be a brilliant mind, "HOOW AAARE YOUUUU???"

It is frustrating to see so many conflicting theories as to the cause of autism. My personal view is that it is environmental, meaning it comes from food, medicine and/or toxic substances around us. I think if they focused their attention there they may do more good. If they were to all consecrate they would do one better.

Liberals Gone Wild - Protect the Kids from Bibles!

Octaman is often amused to see the depravity of the left as they attack those who stand up for the Bible. Here's the latest as Florida attacks the Gideons for passing out Bibles on a public sidewalk.

Alec Baldwin makes the news today as a ranting lunatic, blasting his own 12 year old daughter and calling her a pig. The quintessential liberal, this is the classic liberal tactic of derision and name-calling. She must read the Bible.

Bible stompers, Bush haters and surrender chimps, liberals will fight for the right to put scissors in a newborn babies skull and the right to teach bi-sexuality to kindergarten classes, but they won't fight terrorists. You'll stay on their good side as long as you don't mention Abraham, Isaac or Jacob. Then you're the terrorist!

As far as being attacked for being a Christian, I've been there, done that! It's what the story of Octaman is all about from the beginning; if you are a consecrated Christian, you will suffer persecution. Satan will use his time-tested methods of error and division and personal attacks to try and derail you, but keep your faith and stand strong, looking up for your deliverance and He will never let you down.

Family update

The other shoe drops! Now both sisters hate me intensely and for no reason that they can articulate. It's just a stream of labels. (Liberal name-calling again!) None of the insults are based on anything I've actually said or done. I ask them politely to explain, but that seems to enrage them further.

Example:

Sis: "You are a self-righteous hypocrite!"
Oc: "And why is that exactly?"
Sis: "You are delusional and arrogant!"
Oc: "Ok, because why? Anything in particular that I said or did?"
Sis: "You are a contemptuous animal!"

Yes, in their eyes I eat children. She pulled her son out of guitar class because I asked him who the guy was in the Bible that had great strength from his long hair. I ask each kid a Bible trivia question when they come to my door. She said he was being "proselytized." She would prefer I stick to AC/DC's "Highway to Hell". That would be safer for him. ;)

Oh, and the lessons were free.

Music update

I made contact with Ben Bresky, host of THE BEAT on "Israelnationalradio.com". He added me to his friends list on myspace. I enjoyed his interview with Matisyahu, who sounds so much lke my reggae band in San Diego, except he's Jewish and they are very southern California beach, but they are so similar. Just hearing him talk, he's like a brother already. Maybe we'll jam together someday, but he's pretty huge (Sony label) and I'm just an indie guy. My unofficial manager in Mississippi says I should open for him. I said, "go ahead and set that up!" I do hope to set up a time to talk with Ben Bresky on the radio soon, as my music is about comforting the Jewish people at this time of their difficult trials.

Speaking of bands, I'm in contact with my old group in San Diego and there is a chance we will meet for some new shows this summer. That would be a pleasure. It depends on their motivation levels, which appear high at the moment. As Rush Limbaugh says, "80% of achievement is desire!"

And from pure desire, new music is on the way! I'm creating a page with samples of the new Octaman album "Organic Frequency" which should be ready to preview soon. The album is material previously recorded but unreleased, and features the original drummer from Pearl Jam. It's still very timely music, dealing with subjects that are in today's news, such as school violence, environmental destruction, and the "N word." That's because I'm always at least 10 years ahead of my time! (You can preview some of it now at the second Octaman myspace site.)

A Day in the Life of Octaman

It's hard for me to have a negative feeling for long, in spite of the fact that my family has written me off. I know that the family doesn't know me, and has never cared to have a conversation with me about anything. Fear seems to be the motivator behind that. Fear of what, is for another post...

I'm not made of stone, and my feelings do get hurt sometimes. I think how foolish they are to ignore and boycott someone who should be an interesting and even exciting part of their lives. How many of us have relatives who are recording artists with a new CD? I don't understand their animosity. But when I visit my own myspace site and see a friend request, it helps just a bit. And behold, when I look at the persons profile and see my own name listed in his section of "heroes", I get choked up a bit. There I was, right alongside Jesus, Speilberg and Spiderman. It means a lot to me especially now.

I wonder how many people are blessed to have the following kind of experience: I'm walking alone at the school field (after hours) hitting golf balls with my dog, just practicing. I see a kid from a distance and pay no attention. As he draws closer I see he's watching me. I pay no heed. Then from the other side of the fence he speaks to me.

"Hey I recognize you." He says. Well, I've been onstage so I could be recognized, it's not a big deal. He goes on...

"You helped me with my field goal kicking." He says.

I remember him now. It was maybe two years ago when I saw this kid trying to get the football through the uprights off of a tee, and I took pity on him, explained to him that I was a bit of a coach, and proceeded to help him.

"Yeah" he said, "you showed me how I should just do the same thing every time with the same approach and same number of steps, to start close and move back gradually. I actually ended up making the team and I got to kick field goals in games. I also played some other positions too. I just wanted to thank you."

Again I choke up. I wonder if anyone in my family has ever had such an experience. It's small moments like these that affirm my purpose as the Octaman - to help people, especially young people. I am able to overlook the family problems as petty and insignificant next to the great purpose and goal of my life. I can forgive them because I realize that they don't know me, never did, and probably never will. It's the people who I spend time with (who allow me to speak freely that really get to know me) that are amazed and grateful at what kind of special help I offer them. That's all I'm about. Those who are not interested in giving their lives for the sake of helping others couldn't possibly relate!

Could you be, could you be, could you be loved?

For Octaman the answer is hard to see. Some may ask why other musicians won't play with me. It's not because I'm some sort of evil taskmaster. Most of them would say I was the most professional, dedicated, hard working musician they've ever played with, with a very positive attitude and quiet, pleasant demeanor. Why then would they not want to work with me?

Because! I'm like Ted Nugent, without the real estate. I have a simple standard for those who want to play with me, and if they can't meet that standard they fall away. It's not even written down or anything, well until now maybe. Just as Ted Nugent would say: any drugs and sex and you can forget it. Keep that stuff away from me. I'm here to play music and have fun. If you have to have that in your life, keep it away from the band and the stage and the public and from me. I don't want to see it, or know about it. All of that interferes with the groups chance of success.

That's all. That's why I'm not in a group, I AM the group!

I also can't be around people who cheat on their spouse or girlfriend, or who father kids with multiple women that they don't marry. My music is on a higher level, as I sing about things that are sacred. And I don't have to say one word to them. I just sing; "Read the Word and live upright!" and they scatter like roaches under the light...

The one thing I request - stated up front - please! keep your religious messages off the stage as far as signs, banners and t-shirts are concerned. Of course a Jew could wear a yamika, or a hindu could have a dotted forehead, etc. But bringing your devil t-shirt or your rasta banner so you can decorate your little corner of the stage is contradictory to the spirit of the act I'm presenting.

It's an affront to me to run an opposing advertisement to the Bible message that I convey. After treating them with love and respect and giving them an opportunity to play music, they are disrespectful and confrontational toward me. If you can't abide by these simple guidelines, you won't play music with me for long.

That's why I'm Octaman. Because there are no musicians who I've met who can tolerate the standard! Again, it's not even written down or openly stated. I have an Israelite vibe that repels babylonians like a reverse magnet. I don't even require godly standards! Just basic human decency, which is often too much for them to handle.

Speaking of the family boycott against me for no reason at all...

there are some Bob Marley lyrics that come to mind that fit the situation and also apply to the many musicians who have come and gone. After hearing enough of people lying to me and lying to themselves about situations that I see clearly, but they clearly don't see at all, I now understand why Bob wrote "could you be loved":

In other words, spare me the lecture when I see clearly what the situation is. Your mind is clouded with nonsense. I live in love and they live in fear. I won't be persuaded to see it your way when it's obviously wrong.

There's always pressure on an Israelite to conform to the ways of the babylonians. I'm always dealing with people who are judging and pointing fingers at me who want to change and re-arrange me in their image. They have no love for me, but still wouldn't if they could change me!

I've always treated friends and family with love and respect. Yet no matter how nice I am, they are always dissatisfied with me. I have no clue why except for my Israelite vibrations. They are not able to say why. Will they discuss it? Will they talk to me about it? Can they communicate? No! They can't even say something. They can't say anything. They simply react emotionally and then run and hide from any reasoning I may attempt to engage in.

They accuse me yet are unwilling to face me. They assassinate my character without cause, and they don't even know me at all, nor understand why they do it. In this manner they are worse than the Romans of old!

I've had dearest loved ones, musical comrades and Bible study partners boycott me to go on a whisper campaign, saying the nastiest things about me to anyone within earshot - and for no reason that they can even articulate. It is always in response to standing up for what is right. They will be angry with you for taking a stand, even if you have the face and voice of an angel.

They stoned Stephen and he had the face of an angel, and spoke the Truth to his brethren. Just read Acts chapter 6. They falsely accused him of saying things he did not say. They killed him for doing good. He was only trying to help them, but they would not hear him.

This is the life of an Israelite living inside Babylon. If you are like me, your very presence is an abomination to the worshippers of "Ishtar"! Even if you are trying to cultivate love.

True love is from above. Real love is a higher "agape" love from God. To give and receive it you must respect that God first. The love of the Babylonians is the love of ease and expediency, of money and status. The very thought of putting those things aside to consider God will is unthinkable to them.

I GIVE THANKS that God will bless them all in the Kingdom, with clarity of mind and love of the highest degree!

I wrote that song a long time ago, and it seems to have a continual cycle of fulfillment in my life. Sometimes the episodes are so hard that it's difficult to fit the Octaman story into my comedic template. The only way to make it funny would be to make Octaman the most hated person on the planet. That may be the case.

One evil thing after another happens to our hero, so the audience can laugh their heads off at what must be a deserving villain.

Let's join our anti-hero as he sets out to find an audience for his independently released music CD. It's very hard just waiting for any feedback. And waiting. And waiting. The silence is deafening at times. After working for nearly four years on the latest CD, all I hear from most of my friends and family are crickets.

At least mom is supportive. Anyway, today I've been working on a new CD that is very exciting to me. Some of the music is already up on the myspace.com rock site for downloading. It's newly re-mastered hard rock music that was already in the can. I can't wait for others to hear it, so I decide to unveil it by playing a song for a student of mine. His reaction?

Not one single word. It's hard to fathom, since the music is so outrageously on the edge, it should elicit some sort of reaction, but maybe that's just as well. Some of my friends have been critical of the last CD, so maybe I don't want to know what anyone thinks. At least I know it's good.

There are some nice remarks about "Rock of Offence" coming in. Two or three! I'm not sure if it's two or three since one of them suggested I should do an instrumental album, which I take as a backhanded snipe at the vocalist. Coming from a person who's in the Truth - the same religious fellowship as I am, well, you'd think the message would be more important to them, but I suppose they prefer Andrea Boceli. I suppose I'm not everyone's cup of tea. I must deserve it, since I had just spent part of the day coaching students by picking apart their vocals...

No word back from the few radio hosts I sent the CD to yet. Not sure if they arrived. An inquiry to a reggae music site for info resulted in someone sending a "friend request" to my Octaman "myspace" reggae site. I guess that's spam, but I'm new to myspace, so I let him join. It looks better than having it say "Octaman has 1 friends". I can see this is going to be a long haul out of anonymity...

Question for the day: If you know that a certain family member is estranged from the others, should you secretly invite them all to a dinner - and then when the estranged party tries to ask for reconciliation and is rejected again, should you then throw an emotional fit and blame him because the evening didn't go as you planned?

And what if the estranged family member had already told you exactly what would happen if you all got together, but you went ahead and ignored that conversation? Do you then think it would be all right to loudly berate him? To not answer his very nice email? To not show up for the music lesson scheduled for his nephew? To do so without informing him?

Scott Peterson and the "night stalker" are murderers in prison who get love letters. I'm a musician and guitar teacher who volunteers his time to kids, but you'd think I'd just called someone a "nappy headed ho!" I'm boycotted. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to miss out on that monthly box of macaroni and cheese I'd receive in trade for the $100 in music lessons I've given each month for the last two years...

And I guess I'll have to miss out on having any family as well. That's the punchline!

It's too much to bear. My world has stopped. Everything was fine until I heard the words "nappy headed ho's", and now it's over. I can't eat, I can't sleep. I can't function at all. I won't do anything until I see Don Imus hanging on a cross. Until he is crucified or at least tortured and beheaded, the world will not start turning again. Until that time, I will soothe my grief by viewing the Rap music channels, and perhaps enjoy some racial humor on the comedy channels. It's all I have left....

Actually I've been busy. Just last night I posted two "new" songs on my second super secret myspace site. One of the songs is called "Every Nigger I Know". That's right. In a world where using the "N" word is completely out of bounds, I go ahead and make this song with that title and make it free for the whole world! Shocking! Simply outrageous.

Of course I'm shy about it, or sly about it. I won't tell you exactly where they are, but here is the clue: On my "band bio" profile, middle C is the key! The song is about my personal relationship with black people in this world and how they effect me.

The other song, "Lightening Every Day" is about the ever-brightening light of the Millennial dawn in which we live, and the overall effect it is having on all of our lives - and why. It is nothing less than the second coming of Christ in action - "returned already, Messiah Redeemer!"

Rock Star vs. Rock of Offence

Episode 13: No way home.

Finally with CD in hand I set out to promote it. Most indie artists have friends and family behind them to help distribute or get the word out. Not so true for Octaman.

First I sent CD's to supporters who ordered early to help support the effort. Both of them.

Second, I sent CD's out to CDbaby.com who will be setting me up with online distribution, such as iTunes and Rhapsody, etc.

Third I pass them out to a few people, such as my neighbor who actually listened to my previous music and liked it. He called me and was very encouraging...

Fourth I sent some out to radio hosts whom I thought may be interested. Bryan Suits was the inspiration for the song "Iraqi People Are Free" so I sent one to him with a thank you letter. Then there are two hosts at Israelnationalradio.cm I thought might like it, perhaps even put me on their show.

I didn't know how I'd pay for the postage to Israel, but thankfully I bumped into a student of mine at the grocery store who purchased one from me, and then a stranger who was curious about my dreadlocks also bought one. With this money I could send the packages out.

Fifth, my old band in San Diego had been in contact with me and expressed interest in possibly playing again (yes some musicians appreciated me!). I sent them a few to pass around...

Sixth, it's Easter Sunday and I'm invited to my sister's house. My new CD should be a big hit with the family, right? Will they say they loved it? Toss a few streamers maybe?

I show up and see my older sister's vehicle. She can't stand me. My dad is there! But everyone knows that my dad doesn't want to see me. This would be the first holiday together in nearly 4 years...

I walk in and it's like a fission device went off. "Hi dad, so how come you haven't wanted to see me?" I ask. Within seconds one sister is yelling at me, the other is sobbing emotionally, my brother in law is yelling at me because I asked, the kids are crying and running downstairs, my dad is bulging at the temples and screaming violent threats against me, while poor mom is swirling a half-empty glass looking at her feet, after quietly supporting me a bit.

It was just like old times! I felt right at home. :)

They set me up. It was a conspiracy to deliberately not tell me who would be there. I told them beforehand exactly what would happen if we got together - that I was going to ask what the problem was to try and facilitate communication - something foreign to our family. I said they would not like being asked, and the holiday would be ruined in front of the kids. Well in the words of Will Smith in the movie "I, Robot" - "somehow 'I told you so' just doesn't quite say it."

Their emotional abuse toward me has been ongoing for years. As often happens, bullies get support and the victim is blamed. It was my fault for asking why they stopped seeing me, stopped sending cards, etc. after dad screamed at me in a crowded restaurant during our last holiday meal with a vile stream of insults. Yet he is lauded as "a good father". I suppose, if a violent, drunken, philandering, gambling, absent-all-the-time dad is your idea of a good father. Still, I love him in spite of it, and would like to see a reconciliation.

I would've chosen a different setting, but they set me up, so I had exactly three choices:

First, I could have seen their cars in the driveway and taken the "small man" approach - turn right around and leave.

Second, I could take the "little boy" approach, sit down and bite my lip and sit across the table from those who hate my guts, continuing the stress of abuse, suffering in silence.

They would have all voted for that choice, as they don't care about my feelings, as dad used to always say - "I could care less, dear."

I'm not a coward nor a kid, I'm Octaman. I took the third option; Step up like a man, be brave and ask what the problem was, to break the cycle. Each of them responded with uncontrolled emotions, refusing to allow me to talk, so I was left with no option but to just leave.

Only my dad's wife cared to listen to me at all. Great having the support of your family at crucial times in your life! Par for the course!

The First Week - Success? Or Par for the course?

What began as a promising career stumbles on as a comedy of errors. Read it Jah children and learn!

Episode 12: CD PROJECT PICKUP (It's not really episode 12, but I'm conveying the idea that the story starts in the middle, not the beginning.)

So it's the night before I drive to Portland to pick up my order of 1000 cd's of Octaman, Rock of Offence. Years ago when the project began I googled the term "Octaman" and found nothing, so I figured I was in the clear with an original name that only I had thought of! But just for the heck of it, I search it again, and discover - to my horror - that it is a horror movie from 1971. There were very few search results. This was a terrible "B" movie with a guy in a rubber suit, something along the lines of "Creature from the Black Lagoon" or something. Then I laughed. That just figures, I thought. And it fits the story.

I get to Portland the next day and convey my funny little story to the guy at the desk who says, "you didn't know that"? As though it were common knowledge. Turns out he was an actor who had an interest in weird sci-fi movies. But so far we are par for the course.

Gary and I (guitar player friend) used to sit around and come up with brilliant ideas for cover songs to play in our band, only to hear it on the radio virtually the next day. One day Gary said, "I have it! The song that nobody will ever think of to cover. Hocus Pocus by Focus!" "I love that song!" I said. Let's learn it! We heard it that same week. It became a hit for the band that covered it.

I chose Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" as a reggae tune, and then she came out that week with that song as the title track of her new album. I rehearsed a reggae version of "Landslide" by Stevie Nicks only to hear it in a pet store by someone else.

These scenes and more will appear in the upcoming movie! Which will have already been made by the time I finish writing it...

There is Great Hope for All Mankind!

After a long journey of hardship and deprivation, and after a long wait for the final touches, right when planet earth has reached it's final extremity - "OCTAMAN - Rock of Offence" is now available. This blog will detail the continuing journey and metamorphasis of a mild mannered guitar teacher turned anti-hero of our time, as he stands up for truth and right in the face of evil opposition at every turn.

The saga begins. The journey continues. One man devotes himself to the single greatest cause in the history of earth, and is virtually and figuratively killed for his efforts, each and every step of the way. While the drug and sex culture thrives, while children are enslaved and evil prospers, watch how this lone man of faith struggles against the current, fighting the great enemies of us all - the world, the flesh and the devil.

The movies of our day that glorify violence and filth are backed by giant rosters of individuals who make large salaries for their efforts. Video games that promote death and destruction are made by huge companies with long lists of credits for writers, artists, producers, computer modelers and the like. Yet the cause of truth and right is backed by who? How many promote goodness and faith? How many have given their lives to make the lives of children better? The list of credits is woefully short.

Octaman sings about what is right and true, and what is lasting. He has devoted his life to a cause greater than himself. And because of it, he has been ostracised, criticised, attacked, persecuted, and boycotted musically. Alas, there are no musicians willing to take a break from glorifying sex and drugs and partying in order to back a singer who stands for something very different - glorifying Yahweh.

That's right, Yahweh. That word is virtually unknown in the world. It is God's name. Yet if you search for "Mohammed" you will find millions of search results, and anyone on the street knows "Allah" is the name of the Islamic god. Yet ask them the name of the True God, the ONE God of Israel and they will stammer and stumble and tell you they don't know. How sad! That the God of all Creation who gave us the means of our very existence is not known, nor cared about nor considered!

That's right, Yahweh. That word has been censored for centuries. It appears over 7000 times in the Bible, and yet was removed! One would think that the GOD of us all who gave us His Bible as a love letter from Him and who calls Himself our "Father" would want his children to know His name!

One does think that. One alone. Octaman - unashamedly singing the Divine Name so strongly that other musicians refuse to join in. They'd rather sing about beer. And even family members respond with silence, disgust - even hatred.

Undaunted, Octaman goes forth alone, fighting for the Truth single-handedly with music as his only weapon. And all who oppose truth and righteousness are the enemies of the new Kingdom, and unless they quickly surrender, they MUST soon suffer ignominious defeat!
