Ezekiel 38 and Zechariah 14 : Now Nearly Complete

Zech 14:2 "For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city."

From the Comments Book there is one reference by Pastor Russell:

Since Pastor Russell taught that Zechariah 14 and Ezekiel 38 are synonymous...

...and since it has been shown that Zechariah 14 has already been fulfilled, at very least to a point if not completely...

...we now suggest that Ezekiel 38 has also already occurred in the past, and if not completely, then nearly so.  Here's how.

While Ezek 38 could occur suddenly, my suggestion is that it has been transpiring since Israeli statehood.

"In the Hebrew of Ezek. 38: 8 the expression rendered, "in the latter years," is to be translated, "in the last one of the years;" and in v. 16 the expression rendered, "in the latter days," is to be translated, "in the last one of the days"—a day here standing for a year. This proves that Ezek. 38 and 39 refer to a period subsequent to Armageddon and Anarchy. " PSL Johnson

And, since it has been the contention of this writer that we are in "The Anarchy" and have been for a long time, let's look at what PSL Johnson suggests:

Is a "generation" 70 years?  

It is the view of this writer that we have seen enough unfold in our current events of the day [April 2018 at the time of this writing] to suggest that this anarchy is now so prevalent that the proverbial genie cannot be put back, so that we must be at the time forecast.

And this is right on schedule from another viewpoint.  Remember Jesus said in Matthew 24:32 that all these things will be accomplished by a certain time?  

"This generation." 

(Mark 13:28-31; Luke 21:29-33)

32Now from the fig tree learn her parable: when her branch is now become tender, and putteth forth its leaves, ye know that the summer is nigh; 33even so ye also, when ye see all these things, know ye that he is nigh, even at the doors. 34Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all these things be accomplished. 35Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

 The date May 14, 1948 commends itself by being exactly 70 years [which is only one possible correct duration of what is a Scriptural "generation"] from 1948 Israel becomes a state. 

This at very least sets the stage for Armageddon / Anarchy / Jacob's Trouble - and then the Kingdom.

Right now, we are right where Pastor Russell said we would be:

  "Aggressiveness on the part of the trusts and syndicates will bring about the final catastrophe of this age in the wreck of the entire social structure by the masses." NS377:5

Today these are the banks and giant conglomerates.  Alphabet Inc {Google, Microsoft, etc.} are actively squelching free speech and aiding in the ouster of the elected government.  There are Civil War conditions in the United States right now.

Pastor Russell predicted in his book, "The Battle of Armageddon" that this would be followed in the alternative media...

Every newspaper, not under the control of wealth, voices the roar of the restless "sea" class; and the others, though unwillingly, [D597] must give the echo of the roaring as matters of news. This it is, that in a period of comparative peace, is causing "distress of nations with perplexity."

One last thought from PSL Johnson:
